The Healing in Mission Network of New Wineskins has a new name!  We are now calling ourselves the Renewal and Healing Network. This demonstrates our sense that the work of our network is meant to be broader than healing as it relates to mission, to also encompass matters related to the renewal of individuals and communities.

What is Church renewal? It’s what happens when the love of the Holy Spirit comes alive so that Jesus becomes Lord over our whole lives; our relationships become centered on God’s love; and His mission is central to our mission. Divine healing is certainly a part of that, and we do not desire to lose that emphasis. Rather, we see it as one essential expression in the renewing work that God is doing today in His Church.

I have had the privilege of attending two New Wineskins for Global Missions conferences in my years of being part of the Episcopal/Anglican Church. What makes my experience unique is that I attended the very first conference (1994) and the most recent conference (2025) and none in between! My perspective of the two events carries, for me, both wonderful memories and a vision of God’s faithfulness both to me and to the enduring influence that the New Wineskins movement has had on the Anglican Communion and the Great Commission movement throughout the world.

The New Wineskins Conference (NWC), coming next month, September 17-20 in Ridgecrest, North Carolina - has become my favorite of many Anglican conferences I have attended through the years. Here’s why. More than any other gathering I’m aware of, NWC immerses orthodox Anglicans in teaching, worship, prayer, and conversation centered on our main calling as Christians: Jesus’ Great Commission to His Church, given in Matthew 28. Jesus commanded His church to go to the ends of the earth, and make disciples of all the nations. New Wineskins is all about mission – international, national, and local.…

The New Wineskins Conference, only 5 weeks away, brings people together from all over the world. Many of them desperately need prayer. Some are missionaries serving in the most difficult mission fields – places of poverty, spiritual oppression, and even violence. Others are serving in churches in our province who also need a touch from the Lord. If you have experience in prayer ministry, will you consider helping to meet this need by being part of the team that prays for them in person? We’ve seen many breakthroughs in this ministry!

Because we are created in the image of God, the Creator, we too are creative beings. Creativity is part of our design, a reflection of His nature within us. We don't just connect with God intellectually—we long to engage with Him through all our senses. That’s why New Wineskins is integrating the arts into the Hope for the Nations conference, and Dandelion Ministries is excited to be part of this!

People are looking for purpose and for the meaning of life and they are hungry for a spirituality that embraces all aspects of their person—including the imagination. This is a visual generation that is overstimulated by ever-present technology, endless news cycles, and the demands of social media. But for decades Christians have tried to reach the culture without some of the church’s greatest resources: beauty and the arts. Art has the power to touch people’s hearts and minds. One of the ways that we can bring hope to our world that is searching for answers is through the arts.

Each time believers from around the world gather at the New Wineskins Global Missions Conference, something deeply spiritual takes place, something far greater than a conference schedule or a series of talks. Worshipping together as a global body becomes a living glimpse of Revelation 7:9, where the Apostle John describes “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”

Each year, fifty days after Easter, Christians around the world gather to celebrate Pentecost — a moment of divine power, purpose, and promise. It is the birth of the Church, and marks the day the risen Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled His promise by pouring out the Holy Spirit upon His followers. What began as a group of frightened disciples hidden in an upper room transformed into a bold, Spirit-empowered Church sent to the ends of the earth with one mission: to make disciples for the glory of God.

Hope. I don’t know an individual, a church, or a nation that couldn’t use more hope. As we look at our world, we see what appear to be hopeless situations all around us from our own lives and communities to global conflicts and strife. But, God… As Christians, we know that our hope is not in ourselves or any entity other than our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus is not only the hope for every person in the world, but, indeed, the hope for all nations!…For this reason, God has shown us that our theme for the 2025 New Wineskins Global Mission Conference is to be Hope for the Nations!

My faith journey began at an Episcopal church that was meeting in a school. My husband and I began attending this church with our two young daughters because they were known for their kid’s program. The priest said the salvation prayer during one of the services and said if you’ve never given your life to Jesus, you can pray along with me and begin today. I repeated the words he said silently in my head and began following Jesus.…

The 2022 New Wineskins Missions Conference was the second one I attended. I was amazed at my first one in 2019.

As Anglicans, we have been taught about the power of prayer in the Kingdom of God. But do we realize such prayer should focus on fellow Christians, and especially on those who are persecuted for their faith?

It’s sobering, but also joyful, to learn about the persecuted church around the world. At the Anglican Persecuted Church Network, we organize prayer for the persecuted church and coordinate for action.

In his first commission to us in Genesis 1, God gave us two interconnected orders. The first was to be fruitful and multiply. We have done quite well with that part, with our world population now over eight billion. The second was to rule over and tend to his creation. We don’t often do as well with that one. However, the Church has an opportunity to lead the way in stewarding creation and, in doing so, point others to their Creator.

Thirty years ago today, on April 27, 1994, New Wineskins Missionary Network (formerly ECMC, Episcopal Church Missionary Community) held its first Global Mission Conference.…

When we attended New Wineskins in 2022, God confirmed to us over and over that we were right where we needed to be. That we are missionaries in a city that desperately needs the love of Jesus.…

A year ago this week, 1,600 of us from 65 nations were gathered at Ridgecrest for the New Wineskins Global Mission Conference! Our theme of One Mission encouraged everyone, young and old alike, to pray into how God was calling them to Be the one, See the one, and Share the One True God!

Anglicans are drawing near to immigrants and refugees both in our neighborhoods and around the world. As North American Anglicans, we are not alone in learning to love those who are immigrating to our neighborhoods. Christians around the world have set such a beautiful example for us to follow in how we welcome the stranger, entertaining angels unawares.
