Frequently Asked Questions about Networks

If your questions are not answered below, please email us!

Contact the network directly to express interest in joining. Membership is free in most of our mission networks, though some may assess dues or charge meeting fees when they gather. The co-leaders of the network decide on membership requirements, then post contact links on their individual pages. All networks are strongly encouraged to have a group email as well as social media connection points. Some online groups are public and others require permission to join.

How do I join a network?

New Wineskins requires that each network have a minimum of two co-leaders from separate organizations, institutions or parishes. Mission network leaders are volunteers who are practitioners within their particular area of missional interest. Network leaders connect directly with those interested in joining, and then facilitate interaction with their members through the group email, social media outlets, Zoom calls, and in-person gatherings.

What is the organizational structure of a network?

Simply contact New Wineskins by email to indicate your interest in forming a new mission network. If you don’t already have a co-leader, we may be able to assist you in finding one! Once a leadership team is established, the group establishes their vision statement, mission goals, communication tools, social media outlets, and top resources to link to on their New Wineskins network page. They create a press release to announce the network’s launch and begin to plan ways for the network to interact.

What is the process to start a network?

We are a network of networks. We help launch new mission networks, promote their activities through our communication channels, and encourage Anglicans to get involved through diocesan, provincial and global interactions.

How are networks connected to
New Wineskins?

Networks are self-funded by their members through dues, meeting fees, or fund-raising efforts. However, New Wineskins provides some start-up funding to help with initial branding, marketing, and publicity to help get the network launched as an official mission network.
